Answer like you would talk to a builder in your kitchen.
The assistant asks one thing at a time, explains why it matters, and takes “I’m not sure” as a perfectly good answer to every technical question. Nothing is scored, and nothing is a trick.

Our work
Every project goes through the ugly middle.
Bare studs on the left, a finished kitchen on the right. Two different projects, but the same stage every remodel passes through — and the point where a written scope earns its keep. Drag the handle.

Local construction answers
Straight answers to the questions people ask first.
Cost questions are answered by Scotty from approved pricing, not published here until they can be sourced and dated.
- How accurate is an online construction estimate?
- Only as accurate as what you give it. Photographs and answers establish scope well; they cannot establish price. That is why our estimator produces a written scope and Scotty produces the numbers, after a conversation and usually a site visit.
- Can AI estimate a project from photographs?
- It can identify what is visible — cabinets, counters, flooring, fixtures, apparent condition — and draft a scope from it. It cannot see inside walls, judge whether a wall is load bearing, or know what a permit office will require.
- Do I need plans for a home addition?
- Almost always. An addition changes the structure and the footprint, and the permitting authority will want drawings. If you do not have plans yet, that is a normal first step.
- Which authority issues permits for my address?
- Not necessarily the city on your mailing address. Katy-area properties may fall under a city, a county, or an extraterritorial jurisdiction. We confirm it with the building department for your specific lot rather than assume.
- How long can a major remodel take?
- It depends on scope, selections, and material lead times. Anything we say before walking the space would be a guess, so we give a schedule after, not before.
- What veteran resources may help with home modifications?
- Organizations such as Operation Finally Home, Combined Arms, and the VA run programs for housing and accessibility. Eligibility is theirs to decide; we point you to them and can scope the construction side.
